Nissan Receives Award Recognizing Commitment to the Environment

Nissan Recognized as ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year

Nissan was once again awarded the ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year – Sustained Excellence award, given out by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This is the 10th such award for the car manufacturer.
The EPA awards organizations for being dedicated to protecting the environment. It represents the company’s efforts to reduce greenhouse gases from emissions and improving energy management through all areas of operations. Nissan has received the Partner of the Year award for 12 years with 10 years for the Sustained Excellence Award.

Caring for Earth

Nissan has been dedicated to caring for the environment for many years. The company became an ENERGY STAR partner in 2006. Since that time, changes in manufacturing and assembly processes have saved nearly eight trillion BTUs of energy. If you were to convert that into usable energy for the Nissan LEAF, you could drive it from the Earth to the sun 44 times or 8.3 billion miles.
Nissan doesn’t rest on past accomplishments thought. Back in 2020, the manufacturer reduced absolute energy by 21 percent in the US manufacturing plants. The company has transitioned to technologies which are more efficient, such as LED lighting. Employees engage in energy management as their ideas are utilized. Proudly serving the communities where Nissan vehicles are made and sold, Nissan uses its power of influence for good. The manufacturer has partnered with schools to help them develop initiatives for saving energy. Many of those schools have also received ENERGY STAR certification.
Business practices at Nissan are dedicated to saving energy and becoming more efficient. The manufacturer has set an aggressive goal to be carbon neutral by 2050 with its global operations and in the life cycle of the products it develops.

Setting a New Standard with the Nissan LEAF

Nissan is leading the way for energy efficiency with its premier electric model, the Nissan LEAF. The LEAF is paving the path to more electric models in the Nissan lineup. This model is quite impressive with the ability to travel for a range of 226 miles.
Along with the distance the LEAF can travel, it also appeals because of the agile performance and instant acceleration. A low center of gravity comes from the floor-mounted battery pack, which increases the level of fun. Feel the 100 percent torque every time you touch down on the gas pedal. As you let up, the car slows down with no need to use the brake. Of course, a brake pedal is still included for times when you need it.
With fewer components, such as no spark plugs or timing belts, you don’t have to worry about taking your car in for a tune-up. It doesn’t even need an oil change because there is no oil. This translates into less maintenance and more enjoyment of your vehicle.
